Swedish politics

I wish Bolund (representative for Sweden’s green party) would’ve stood his ground. He referred to the nazi party (the biggest and most mainstream of Sweden’s three nazi parties) as a nazi party, got attacked by their leader who saw it as a personal insult, and backed down. Dude. He’s the leader of fucking SD. A party founded in 1988 by an aging SS Rottenführer, Gustaf Ekström, and the “BSS” nazi organization. (Yeah, the “neo” part of “neo nazi” is a misnomer with these guys.) A party whose roots this leader has promised to uphold.

@Sandra why is it legal to have an actual Nazi party in Sweden?

this question sent from Germany......

re: Swedish politics

@meena I’m not sure on the technical specifics on what they can and can’t say. Individual members get sentenced for hate crimes all the time, like just four days ago one of their local leaders got sentenced to a 24000 SEK fine.

I agree that it’s messed up that this party exists and that other right wing parties are now collaborating with them.

@meena @Sandra They never took over the government so it's still "could never happen here" and covered by freedom of speech and association.

@clacke @Sandra one of our resident Nazis has lost immunity now that the election is over and will be prosecuted by State Attorney.
