So is Us Magazine literally just Trump propaganda now? I mean I know they got bought by American Media Inc which is gross enough (not that they were a beacon of stellar journalism before) but every single week it's just Ivanka's useless pointless hateful face on the cover like some weird White House apologism

Mixed feelings when the local baseball team sends you an email about how to help Puerto Rico but the current administration does not.

(Not that I expect the current administration to do much of anything except continue to make things worse, mind you, but there it is.)

And finally I just wanna share the last line of the police report, because I feel like it sums up everything right now pretty concisely:

"The identification process of all of the injured and the deceased will take time, so authorities are asking the public for patience."

Indeed.

But this was a fully-fucking-automatic weapon.

What the fuck!

And police say he had "numerous firearms" in his residence.

He, I say. The shooter. Another middle-aged white male.

Ban white men, for fuck's sake.To hell with guns, ban white men.

And look, I'm gonna come right out and say it - in an ideal world I am 100% against guns; I think they're pointless fucking death machines and I kind of even think hunting is stupid and I also think that it can be done with bows; but I am also very aware that that's not the world I live in and I know that that all guns are almost certainly not going to be outlawed. What I want and reality are very different.

So I take a week off of Twitter to protest the Nazis and clear my head and get some space and I go to check my email and all I see is Las Vegas and here I am on vacation at 10:30am, outraged anyway.

Why the fuck do we keep letting this happen?

Fifty people. Fifty people dead. Four HUNDRED wounded.

Back. Taking a week off of birdsite due to appropriate hashtag but I know I won’t be able to give up screaming into the void about the state of the nation so here I am.
