if i ever come off as unreflected drama queen,

please know: i don't have a functioning measuring stick for hardship.

and it's okay to tell me (to buzz off)

genders are like shoes. if they don't fit well, it looks a bit weird, and feels uncomfortable.

(and that's why i like to walk barefoot)

climate change

Since my hometown of Ottawa literally broke Canada's air quality scale today, here's one of my favorite things I've made.

When vampires move, that's

end-to-end encrypted

should i get a new Nintendo switch controller, so i can play Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for longer than an hour at a time?

or should i take the cue from the switch and goto bed??

controversial food opinions

- i like margarine better than butter.

- fuck citrus marmalade.
make jam out of literally everything else, stop taking up a whole shelf in shops

(why did the Brits take a word that meant "honey apple jam", and turned it to mean only "bitter jam is our culture"?

why are people falling for this??)

- al-dente pasta tastes like ass, and it took me close to a decade to realise why pasta is cooked al-dente: you have to finish cooking it in the actual sauce!! stop segrati

“The reason most public transportation is seen as ‘losing’ money is precisely because it charges for trips. If you don't charge fares, suddenly it can't ‘lose’ money. It just costs money, the same as the roads.”

This random comment has given me my new favourite argument for removing fares from public transit.

watching: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

This was a very cute family movie (my 4 year old daughter enjoyed it. She was hopping!)

I *absolutely* love the style.
Yes, you read that right: a Dreamworks animation, and I love the animation.

It's painted in broad strokes, the movement, especially in action scenes is often animated at 12 or 8 fps, it's makes it so easy to follow the *intent* of the action… it's *soooo* good.

watching: Glass Onion

I finally watched Glass Onion, and, wowie wow. somebody made a whole movie about how dumb Elon Musk is

it's good. I love the imagery, and the monologues. and a lot of things

I'll have to rewatch it.

music question

Who is this generation's System of a Down or Rage Against The Machine?

i know it's basically illegal for queer people to exist without tattoos / died hair.

but first off: the only hair-die i want is grey, from mother nature.

and secondly:

e-ink tattoos: when?

watching: Greener Grass (2019)
