kyzh is a user on glitch.social. You can follow them or interact with them if you have an account anywhere in the fediverse.

I've gotten some questions: does it really make sense to plan to build a distributed game system as part of the fediverse? Will that actually pay off or is it just one big gamble?

I think:
- Having things be fun for players/users may make them more likely to join. People want to build things together. May help alleviate the "join a federated social network to talk about federated social networks" problem
- Having things be fun for me is good too :)

@cwebber It can only be a good idea.
So federated werewolf game were my first idea in that space.
You join a game by talking to a bot, get a role attributed, you talk on the local/federated timeline on what is goimg on, you get a bot for votes, everynight something happen, people stick for a while.
But I can see rpg working well too.
The mistery, crime solving games where you have to trawl the fediverse to solve the puzzle would be superfun.

kyzh @kyzh

@cwebber there are a few people that have in caracter account already. We are not far off from being to have people with set role and aspirations yet interacting as traditionnal NPC.
With a bit of a script and a sensible bot, you could guide people thrpigh the fediverse while playing a quest of some sort.

@kyzh @cwebber

That make me think of Neverwinter Nights 2.

You had a lot (still ?) RP servers where the admin could make NPC to interact with the players.

Also, players could play NPC in the case you needed more freedom with the storyline.
