#lazyweb, what's a good music player for the linux console/terminal? It's fine if it's mpd-based, but mpdc is not convenient enough. Either cli or curses is fine.
@gcupc cmus is my favorite.
@gcupc cmus is nice.
@gcupc MoC. Music on Console
@gcupc mocp
@gcupc I've been using ncmpcpp to control my mpd for ages. Still haven't found anything better.
For everything else, I use mpv.
@gcupc ncmpcpp is my favourite. Curses based and customisable
@gcupc mpg123 is my go-to.
@drwho @gcupc I use mplayer for all my media-playing needs, although it's sort of focused on the video end.
It's a giant hairball but it's basically guaranteed to play any obscure format you might find, which is nice.
@gcupc another vote for cmus
@gcupc
I use mpd (with mpc and ncmpc for cli and ncurses control) for my music collection and moc (music on console) for random audio files.
