i think it may be cross-linked polyethylene that's like this? or maybe it's only the sxl cross-link, idk. but it has this sort of matte plastic/rubber feeling, smooth but not so much as to be shiny, feels good when i run it through my hands to pull it off the reel or smooth down a harness section

some types of wire insulation have a really good texture to work with

i worry that i'll forget how to do the things that most amazed me when i learned them

i find analog circuit design incredibly cool, and i worked so hard to become even semi-competent at the simplest basics of it. same for signal processing. and now i graduated and i have a job where i haven't used either, so far. and i worry that they'll slip away.

but hey, i'm learning all kinds of other new things now. so i hope i can relearn the old ones, too, if need be.
