like i know of a few things but there were things here that struck me as hipster or obscure
like what the heck is a cortado or a macchiato
@KitRedgrave is this a rhetorical question or do you want to know?
@KitRedgrave endless subtle variations of milk/espresso
like, what I drink is usually black drip coffee, or straight espresso. or both at the same time.
@KitRedgrave hmmm.... can iiiiii get a large iced americano. but with the water replaced with,...
... uhh...
... espresso. 🤔
@gdkar can i just get, like, 10 espressos in a drip coffee cup? thaanks
@KitRedgrave I was actually in line behind a guy once who ordered 6 shots of espresso, then went and dropped, probably 2 or 3 little shots of creamer into it. It was the strongest latte i've ever seen lol @gdkar
@KitRedgrave you definitely could at peets when iiii was back in HS, at least if they knew you. 🤷
@gdkar @KitRedgrave "americano, hold the water"
@KitRedgrave the definition depends so much on place and country that they could be anything tbh.. just roll a dice lol
@KitRedgrave they're also steamed milk and espresso but less and less milk. Like if a latte is too milky for you but you don't have an issue with steamed milk per se you might like a cortado
@bea ah okay. milk kinda messes with me in general so i try to avoid it
@KitRedgrave double americano for you then maybe
@bea why would you ruin espresso with water tho
@KitRedgrave drink it longer I guess. I don't generally care for espresso either 🤷
@bea think my go-to thing will just be espresso and drip coffee lol
@KitRedgrave I'm assuming Seattle is similar to Portland in that only about 1 in 10 people know what half the coffee menu means. The rest of us just know the one or two things we like and always order those.
@KitRedgrave If you have any fancy coffee questions lemme know. I work at a specialty coffee shop and am super into the stuff
@KitRedgrave I've heard some of those words my whole life and I still don't know what they mean XD
